Shabbat Shalom!

Shabbat Shalom! Though it hasn’t been a very restful day for me.

Lordy! I’m tired! I just got done crying. I got disappointed about something and usually I let it roll off my back, but for some reason, I just started balling. I think I just needed to have a good cry though. Except I don’t really feel better, just tired and a bit lethargic. I hosted Bethany Bicker’s wedding shower today. I was a little worried about it because it was on a Saturday and Shady Grover’s are famous for forgetting about Saturday showers. Sunday’s after Church are by FAR the best time. But it was a great turn out and I was happy. She got a bunch of stuff. I made my famous scrapbook for her and she loved it, which was nice.

I go on vacation next week, but still haven’t gotten all my work done that needed to get done. So I don’t know really what I’m going to do. Today’s already gone, and I’m not really in the mood to do night work…

A good friend of mine, Brad Pratt, his father passed away tonight. He wasn’t in extremly bad health, besides the fact that he smoked like a chimney. He went to Home Depot today and passed out and they called an ambulance, but he was dead upon arrival. Brad’s pretty upset so we are headed over there when Jon gets back from the store. I hate that. It brings back the frailty of life, which in a way, makes you grasp every moment tight, but then on the other makes you a bit leery of tomorrow. My dad is so amazing so I would be immobilized if something happened to him. He is such a rock in my life and I love him so much. He has been under so much stress with all the last stuff to get the bulding finished by May/June(FINALLY) and buying a new house and just dealing with life (the theft at the Church, daily crap that comes with being a Pastor, etc.). I’m surprised sometimes that he stayed in so long with all the complete and total SHIT he has had to deal with since becoming Pastor, most of which was totally uncalled for. But he has been so honorable and righteous. It makes me happy that I now get to reep so much of the blessing of that and my children and their children. He’s a fabulous man! Who’s giving us such a great legacy. But anyways, last night at dinner we normally pray over my mom, but we started praying over him instead and it ended up being like a prayer session where we spoke prophetic words over his life and really encouraged him. That’s not very uncommon for our family dinners, so if you are in the mood for a time of encounter and impartation, come on over for Shabbat! I love my family. We are so of one mind, which is the coolest thing ever.

So Thursday night I babysat the girls and Ash had a wicked case of diarreah. So she had to go to the bathroom every 10 minutes. Well Maddy has been a bit poopy herself so Court has kept a diaper on her. Well I needed to change Maddy’s diaper and so I did, but when I lifted her up, apparantly some of the poo had leaked out on to the carpet, so at that moment of realization, Ash started yelling, “Dee, I have to poopoo!” over and over again, so I yelled for Jon who was playing XBox in the bedroom and he grabbed Maddy thinking she was still leaking poop so he held her at arms length and I grabbed Ash and ran to the bathroom. When I walked back in, Jon was still holding Maddy out and Jedi was licking the poo on the ground! EWWWW! It was so nasty!

It was a good night though, but then I had to given Jedi a bath and washed out his mouth. EWW!

Later that night, we met up with Alyse and Brock and went to see the midnight showing of Harry Potter. I was a bit disappointed, because I loved the 4th book SO much! They left out so many things, which is understandable because the book was so long, but still. I think the fact that they revealed the face of the Crouch son early on in the movie took out a lot of the mystery. But anyways, it was a good movie, but bottom line, the books rock.

Okay, well I need to go ahead and start on dinner before Jon gets back so we can go to the Pratts.

Love to all who read this!
