RyTy Shower

So on Saturday we had the first major event of the Mauldin-Frederick wedding.
The wedding shower and Tiff's Bachelorette Party.
Fun times!
The shower was beautiful and elegant from the Breadwinner's catering to the mamosa's, it was just lovely. Everyone brought great gifts and Ry and Tiff were so blessed.
Here are a few pics:
The beautiful girls of the party:

My princess (note Ashlyn's sad face because Courtney was making them stay put and Ash wanted to mingle):

Opening Presents

And of course the stud at the party was my nephew Judah (with the Dunns)

Then the "Bridesmaids" and Pseudo-Bridesmaids went out to eat at Ferrings and had a DELICIOUS meal that was Tiffani's treat. OMG it was delicious! I'm now obsessed with lobster nachos! :) I had the lamb and it was amazing... we had a blast! :)

Then we went back to Tiff's dad's house to open presents

Then we went to Uptown Pub and had the best time singing at the top of our lungs to our favorite songs! :)

Abby was on a roll that night and I laughed more last night than I can remember for awhile. I mean, I had no more makeup on because I cried it off I was laughing so hard! I have more hilarious pics of Abby doing her "so you think you can dance" hair flip moves and a great booty dance, but we won't embarrass her :)

The only bad thing was the shoes I was wearing MURDERED my feet and I got big ol'blisters and even a bruise across my toes from the straps. OUCH! (You can't really see the true damage, but trust me, they still hurt!)

So the whole day was a success! Congrats to RyTy- it won't be long now and it will be 08-08-08!

Rest... what's that?

(shakes head like dog) Wake up!

I've decided I really need to get back on the workout routine and start drinking more water because I'm SO lethargic! I just can't get a grip on the whole "rest" thing and really need some caffeine injections.

Sorry I haven't blogged in a few days, chalk it up to the whole lethargic thing... maybe it's a bout of chronic fatigue, or maybe it's a bout of chronically wanting to spend my days outside tanning/reading/playing with my daughter, yet having to be inside under florescent lights getting more pasty white. I think it might be more of the latter.

But hey, I have health insurance (positive thought process)

The weekend went swell as you can tell by my last few blogs. Saturday night we went to the Ranger Game. Tiffani's dad is about to sublet the suite, so it's one of the last few times we'll go. Lyric had a fun time. She thought she was so cute and got really hyper.

She spent most the evening with her mouth open for some reason, see:

Giving Ry-Ry high five, or maybe that's more of a low five

Tired Destiny and Lyric

Then on Sunday we had Church. Austin and I sang a song and I sounded like crap on the chorus the first time we sang it. We only practiced it once and I've only sung along to the song in my head, so actually singing it I had to do it a few times to get it down the way I should sing it. It got really cringe worthy at the chorus, if you don't believe me, go download the podcast, Simon Cowell would have thrown me out of the room! But the 2nd time we sang it, it sounded MUCH better, but of course, that part didn't get recorded. Austin sounded great though, so kudos to him! And my dad preached a fantastic message, so kudos to him too!
Speaking of my dad, he and my mom leave in a few days on their trip. They are going to be gone and ENTIRE MONTH!
I have no idea what I'm going to do without them, yet I know how much fun they are going to be having. But I'm not sure if that is worse, knowing that they are having ridiculous amounts of awesomeness, and I'm stuck here, in my office with the florescent lighting and pasty white skin.
Well anyways, Sunday after Church we had a surprise birthday party for Marian Briscoe at my parent's house. It was great and we had a great turn out!
Here is Jesse hiding

Here is her surprise:

Yesterday I was suposed to go work out, but then realized I only had time to either
1. workout
2. go to the grocery store
(jon had plans that evening)

So I chose food over sweatyness. Court and I both went to Walmart and did all of our food shopping for the week and then came back home (to her house), cooked dinner, ate dinner, put the kids to bed and then watched Charlie Wilson's War.

I got home and Jon still wasn't home (he went out for Josh Briscoe's birthday). Well he got home around midnight and the dog was sleeping with me, when he came in, Jedi went crazy barking, which woke up the baby. The wonderfully sympathetic wife I am said, "You woke her up (though indirectly), you deal with her." Well it took him almost an hour and a half till she fully fell back asleep. I slept right through it, even through the screams of frustration, "WHY WON'T SHE GO BACK TO SLEEP!"
I'm so unsympathetic :) Hey, would you like me to start listing all the times he slept through her crying and I was the one up? Well I couldn't because the instances number the stars of the sky.

So that was the last few days in a nut shell.

It is SO gorgeous today! I wish I was outside right now... sigh.

Ok, well I need to finish something really quick.

Later people!

Lyric's First Birthday!

How did it happen? How did my daughter go from this:

To this in just one short year??

Well she did. My daughter has grown into such a fantastic little girl. She really is extremely intelligent, she is funny, she loves to dance and adores music. Saying that she loves me is the biggest understatement of the century. It's hard to feel bad about yourself when your little girl prefers you above anyone and lights up when you walk in a room. I just love her!

For pictures of the day I gave birth to Lyric, April 5, 2007 click HERE

If you click HERE you can read more in detail and also see videos. Actually I lied. For some reason the videos are blacked out, but they are still up on the videos section of my MySpace Page. So go to my profile page and click on videos.

Today was her birthday and her birthday party! We had a great time. Thanks to all who were able to join us!

Okay, here it goes!

First off, my favorite part of the party was the most awesome cake made by Mrs. Brittny Owens (formerly Boyer). This cake was AWESOME! She did such an amazing job and is so talented!

Everyone playing in the yard

Emily in her newly found walking ability! She was doing great! Yeah for walking kids!

Lyric and Dutch looking at something interesting, which obviously was not the camera

We had chicken nuggets and french fries for lunch. We bought a frier for the fries and they were oh so good and crispy! Mom was the fry chef and made them all! Thanks for that!

Birthday parties tire Judah out. He totally fell asleep like that :)

And now the best part. Lyric has never had more than a few bites of cake before, so here she goes.

BEFORE

Then she was like, hmmm, this is pretty good

Then she went to town! It was in her hair, face, ears, nose, EVERYWHERE!

Then it was clean up time in the sink!

So that was the fabulous party! We had a lot of fun and Lyric loves all her gifts and loved hanging out with her friends. She really does think she's like 5, so being around kids makes her so happy. Even if we have trouble sharing :)

We cleaned up and then headed home. All the guys left the party a little early to begin Landon's bachelor party.

Tiff came over and I cleaned up the house a little, Lyric napped and then I went to dinner with Holly and her bridesmaids and a few other people to celebrate Holly's bachelorette party. We went to Cheesecake Factory... YUM! I needed to get back, so I didn't finish the evening with them, but they are going to have a blast!

Tiff babysat Lyric for me this evening and they had a lot of fun. Lyric loves her Aunt Tiff!

Well now I'm exhausted. I'm going to skip out on church tomorrow because I need an actual day of rest since my day has been GOING, GOING, GOING!

Tomorrow we have family pictures and I need to decide what the Vandeputs are going to wear.

Well that's that.
Love to ALL!

Happy 50th Birthday Dad!

This past Sunday we had the absolute privledge of throwing my dad a fantastic 50th birthday party!

Court and I knew it was going to be important and we really wanted his close friends and family there, so we sent out Save the Date Notices and everything! I was definately proud of us for being so organized!

One of my dad's favorite places to eat is Joe T. Garcia's in downtown Fort Worth. So we were able to book the Villa, which is a small villa in the patio area. It's like we had our own house! So much fun!

We got the cake from dad's favorite baker Barbara's Cakes.

We had fun, yet tasteful decorations.

We put together a great tribue video for him. We were even able to get his 2 best friends who couldn't be there because they live overseas to send in videos. Definately a highlight!

I scanned in over 150 pictures from his entire life to be played in the background.

We had a time where everyone could stand up and say something about how my dad has impacted their lives. It was so precious and many, many tears were shed.

Then we prayed over my dad and it was really powerful and full of life!

Then came the most amazing present!

All who were in attendance, plus the Church chipped in and we were able to get them an amazing vacation. They were already leading a tour in Israel, so we changed around their already purchased Israel tickets.

Now they are still leading the tour in Israel, once that is over they have a few days to spend in Israel by themselves. Then they are flying to Cyprus to spend time with their best friends, Norm and Lynn Frederick. Then after that they are getting on a plane to Rome, where they will board a cruise ship for a TEN DAY CRUISE AROUND THE GREEK ISLANDS! They even have a balcony room! Then they get back and have one extra day in Rome to sightsee and then are coming home. All in all, they will be gone almost an entire month!

I was so excited about this, I was hardly able to keep it a secret, but it blessed them beyond belief!

I've never seen my dad that happy and full of life. He really needed that night, and I was so happy that I was a part of providing him a wonderful 50th birthday!!

So here are the pictures, there are a lot of them!
Brad Shull took these pictures and put them in a slideshow!

Enjoy!

Thank you so much to everyone who was able to attend and also those who weren't but still gave! That was such a blessing! Also special thanks to Ryan and Tiff who helped pay for the party. And of course, thanks again for Brad Shull (www.shullphotography.com) for capturing the night for us! And my dad's friends and SGC for getting him the best gift ever!

It was an awesome party and I'm so happy it went perfectly!!!

Holly's Shower

Well my brother gets married on April 11th to the lovely Holly Ward. I must say I was a bit apprehensive going to a personal shower due to the fact that the groom is my little brother... but I survived! :) Although I had to keep telling my sister not to dialogue! :)

Anyways, here are some pictures of the evening!

Party Pics!

These items were a little more what I was comfortable with her opening! :)

She was a great sport though

So yes, good times. I managed to sneak into the other room during the shower games. I don't do shower games. Call me a bad sport, call me a fuddy duddy, but I just don't do shower games! :)

Well I have a lot to do to get ready for tomorrow night and I'm not really sure of everything... I should probably convene with my sister pretty soon!

But for the time being Lyric is napping, MY NEW DISHWASHER is washing it's 2nd load of dirty dishes, the laundry which never ends is going. I've picked up the house, cleaned the kitchen... and it's just 10:30am! :)

I hope everyone's Saturday is delightful!

Israel Reunion

Last night we had an Israel reunion (minus Jenae and Bekah) that Jon went on this summer.

It was a lot of fun and was good to catch up with everyone. Although I didn't actually go on the trip, I still sort of feel like I did for some reason! :)

HERE are the pictures.
