Look-A-Likes

Here is Baby Boy:

And here is a picture of Lyric when she was the same age:

Don't they looks so much alike! I mean, yes I know it's blurry sonogram pics, but their profiles look very similar!
Guys, I'm just so excited! I did not think I would be this excited as I really wanted another girl, but now that I'm thinking about it, I just am so giddy!
I just feel so blessed!
I have a husband who places me as his #1 priority and loves me so much.
I have a beautiful little girl who lights up my life
and now I am carrying my first son who from all reports is healthy and growing fabulously.
I am just so blessed! AHHH!

Here is a pic from us girls this morning. This is a horrible picture of me. I swear my face is not that fat normally, I don't know why it looks so huge. But here it is:

And then on my lunch break I just had to go buy something boyish, so I went and got these:

So cute! Though no one can tell me that boys clothes are cuter than girls clothes, it just isn't true, HOWEVER, it's different and different in a good way.
It's going to be weird not putting bows in his hair :)

Just to take a stroll down memory lane, here are my two blogs from when I found out that Lyric was a girl.
HERE and HERE

Well anyways, I just can't stop thinking about the baby today and decided to write another blog about him! Ahh!

It's A Boy!

I can't believe it! I'm SOOOOO excited!
As you all know, I was FOR SURE it was a girl. I just knew it.
Obviously I am like the worst gender selector of all times as I just knew Lyric was a boy.

So we are sitting in the sonogram room and my sister, mom, Abby, Mabrie, Jon and Lyric are in there. We are all chatting and looking at him move his legs and such and then she says,
"Well, it's a boy!"
and a cheer went up!

I couldn't believe it. She said she had seen it almost immediately and then she shows us, and it was VERY obvious he was indeed a boy.

Actually, to put it nicely, he was standing at attention :)

I honestly was in shock, but soooo happy! I wanted a girl, but having a boy is amazing! I now have my 'set'!

For future babies I won't be wishing for a particular gender (yes, I'm already thinking about more babies).

I am just SO stinkin' excited!!

We've decided on the boy's first name, however Jonathan wants to think a little more about the full name, so I am going to wait to announce the name till we have his FULL NAME so I can give you the full meaning and why we picked it. (I know, I know... blame Jonathan not me)

AHHH! I just can't believe it! I can't get this smile off of my face!

We are going to decorate the entire room in original trilogy star wars paraphernalia! It's going to be awesome!! Though Jon now has to give up his office, but I think he is happy to do it.

Speaking of Jonathan, he is ridiculously excited! When I was leaving for work he told me to be very careful driving because I was carrying his boy "in there". He just knew it was a boy the entire time and always referred to the baby as a he. Even when he was praying over me and the baby this morning on the way to the doctor, he called him a he. I kept interrupting his prayer saying, "Or she", but indeed Jon was right! It's a he!!!

AHHH!

I am so not going to be able to concentrate on work today. I want to be out there shopping!

So here is my baby boy! (I can't believe I can say MY baby boy!)

And here is his "stuff"
I'm having a boy!!!!!!!
AHHH!!!!!!!!!!

And she slept

And so did I.
Life is so much more rosey when you sleep don't you think?

It took her forever to get to sleep. We started trying around 9 and she didn't actually fall asleep till close to 11, but she did and didn't wake up once all night.

Now Jon and I weren't exactly so lucky as I heard a bug and it turned out to be a roach in our room and Jon spent 15 minutes chasing it out from under things moving the bed and end tables around till he got it... ICK!

But besides that, sleep I did :)

She is with Christina today and though she is still fussy, she at least isn't running a fever. I haven't heard yet how nap time went... here's hoping for the best!

I'm so excited about tonight! It's the 2nd installment of our Book Club! We will be talking about New Moon tonight. It should be a blast as we have more people coming this time around. Someone is even bringing vampire cupcakes :)
I got all the discussion questions together and even found a short quiz for us all to take! Food, girls, wine (diet coke), books... can it get any better? I think not.

AND tomorrow! DUM-DA-DA-DUUUMMMM!!!
I have a sonogram tomorrow and HOPEFULLY we will find out if BabyVDP is a girl or a boy! I'm SOOOOOOO excited! I am going to have a full house for spectators as usual. Even my dearest Mabes will be there! I'm so excited! I can't wait to tell everyone... though if it's a boy, I won't be able to announce the name because we still haven't decided on one. But that's okay. Maybe we could have a poll on which name you think it should be. I think we are now between 2 names... but not anywhere close on middle names... sigh.

Anyways, so I have an exciting next 24 hours planned! Good times people.

Thanks for all the well wishes and encouragement on my last blog. Motherhood can be so trying at times... but I think we all know how worth it is.

The Birth Dance

All I know is when I go into labor with this little one, Preston better do another interpretive dance in my hospital room... I swear laughing at that dance made me dialate 3 cm :)

and on a sentimental note, here is the first prayer that was prayed over Lyric and you can hear her first tiny cries... SO cute!

Anxiety Attack

So last night, in the middle of the night I woke up suddenly.
Jon said I started gasping and saying "something's wrong, something's wrong."
I don't remember saying that, but I do remember waking up and knowing that I was in the middle of an anxiety attack.
I couldn't breathe and it felt like sharp stabbing pains in my chest. I knew what was happening, although it has never happened to me before. My family has a history of these things, so I just sat still and took deep breaths. It took about 5 minutes for me to be able to breathe normally and for the stabbing pains to go away.

It was really strange. I of course didn't sleep well the rest of the night.

I think I'm just kind of stressed. Mainly it's just money stress. I wish I knew how we were going to be able to work everything out that needs to be worked out in the coming months. We are trying to adjust our lifestyle to make it rely solely on Jonathan's income and I just don't see how that is going to happen. I mean, I can see to an extent, but it just makes me feel panicky. It's not that we don't have money right now, we are doing perfectly fine. I just know that in the coming months we have some huge bills that need to be paid (Europe trip, $2000 deductible, holidays, etc.) and the whole time we are trying to adjust to living on a smaller income as I know inevitably it's going to have to happen at least for a time after the baby is born. I don't think 6 weeks maternity is going to cut it, on any level, so we are going to have to figure out a way to live on one income for a time.
I just wish I had a plan. I don't, and that's what's stressing me out.

Ok, so I just wanted to write about my funky anxiety attack as I've never had one before.

On a positive note!

We went by Kristina Hippman's toy extravaganza last night and picked up some awesome Little People sets. Lyric is having SO much fun with them. I love seeing her happy and playing, it's such a peaceful thing, when your kid is just happy :) She also loves a Belle doll we picked up from them and carried it around, even to bed last night.

Here is her Little People collection thus far:

I was talking to Jon this morning and Lyric was playing with the castle. Normally she jumps at the chance to talk to me on the phone, especially when it entails holding Jon's iPhone. But this time, Jon couldn't even get her to hold the phone. All she would do was yell hi and not even turn to look at him as she was too busy playing.
I've been replaced by Little People.

Just for fun, let's talk about my belly button for a minute. Normally I have a very deep, innie belly button. When I was pregnant with Lyric, it took quite a while for it to flatten out and it only popped at the very end.
But this time around, my belly button is almost completely flat and the top is already starting to pop out... how strange is that.
For your viewing pleasure, my belly button

I guess it just has sensory recall and decided not to fight it, but seriously, it's kind of nuts.

Finally, my parents left today for DC. They are with the Hogans and are touring around DC today and then tomorrow going to be attending The Call. They are going to have a BLAST! I am so jealous and I wish I was with them. Have fun mom and dad!

Well today is my Friday as I don't work tomorrow. I am wishing the hours to pass quicker as I'm exhausted after last night... pass quickly time!

17 Weeks Pregnant

I've made it to week 17! Yippee!

I was going to officially announce my 5th month of pregnancy, but after reading Joanna's confusing blog about human gestation... I'm no longer talking about months- only weeks :)
So with that said, 1 week from today and I *hopefully* will know if Baby VDP is a boy or a girl.
I'm still thinking it's a girl, and the reason why is that around my "conception" date, there wouldn't have been a possible way that I could have gotten pregnant. So as I've done the research I have found that if you did the deed a few days before you ovulated, that the swimmers can live for a few days, but normally the boy ones die off quicker and the girl ones live longer. So that means I'm having a girl due to the fact that I did not do the deed without contraception on or near the approximate "conception" date... but then again, that is just based on average ovulation... I guess I could have ovulated earlier, but regardless, that's my logic for thinking I'm having a girl.
I always have a theory people.
So this week has kind of sucked due to Ryffani. However, I am happy to announce that Ryffani is gone and I can continue life as normal, or at least until a close cousin rears its ugly head.
The baby's movements are getting stronger and more pronounced... last night when getting Lyric out of the car, I felt him/her kick for the first time while I was standing up. That's kind of cool :) Jon tries every night to feel the baby move to no avail. Well he swears he feels something and I'm like, the baby didn't just move and he was, "yes it did" and I was like, "I don't think it's possible for you to feel the baby move and me not." But he still continues in his own belief. Gotta love him :)
This week at work has been pretty tiring because I've been so busy, but the week is almost over and I can have a nice long relaxing weekend of doing NOTHING! Yeah!

Here are the belly shots:

Here is week 17 over at 0-40

And here is more info about BabyVDP:
Speaking of packing on the pounds, that what it's all about for baby this week. He's adding fat stores that will keep him warm and cozy after he's born. Your baby's weight will increase approximately six times over the next four weeks. Good to know you're not the only one tipping the scale. Also this week:
Your baby is hard at work honing his sucking and swallowing reflexes—all the better for eating that 2 AM (and 5 AM, and 8 AM ...) meal in a few months! The finger- and toenails are beginning to grow from their nail beds, which would explain why he'll need them trimmed almost as soon as he's born!
Your baby weighs nearly 5 ounces and is a little over 5 inches long—about the size of a baked potato (load on the butter and sour cream, please).

I am really excited about next week and so happy that the next time I post a pregnancy blog, it *hopefully* will have a special announcement and name to go with it! Yeah!!!

My aching...

I wish I could sit here and go on an on about this TMI ailment that is "ailing" me... okay fine, I will. I have a case of the roids.
DEAR GOD!
I blame Ryan and Tiffani as if they had not gotten married, I would not have been on my feet for 2 days straight, dancing and carrying around a 16 month old baby who didn't want to be put down... in honor of them, I've actually named my roid after them, I call it Ryffani.
So Ryffani- I curse you and hope you go away very, very soon!

In other news, I'm still tired :)
Yesterday I left church early, only to go home and lay on my side the entire day, hoping that Ryffani would go away once and for all, which didn't happen. Let's just talk about how Jonathan needs to get a cousin of Ryffani so he can understand the pain I feel. He basically just called me lazy all day and everything he did for me, he did so begrudgingly, which is so frustrating when all you want to do is say RYFFANI MAY BE SERIOUSLY MAIMING ME PERMENANTLEY! but he just doesn't get it.
One of these days, he will. He'll be moving a couch, running a marathon or be playing racquetball and he'll come hobbling into our bedroom, begging my forgiveness. "If only I had known how evil Ryffani can be... I would have gotten your diet coke without telling you to get it yourself 3 times. I would have made you a tuna sandwich and remembered to bring you the cheese dorrito chips too... I wouldn't have told you to get your lazy butt out of bed and get them yourself..."
One day Jon, one day.

So today hasn't been the best day for me, but I've been REALLY busy which is nice, except when I have to walk upstairs, that's not nice.

Lyric has hit another talking zone and is saying more and more words! It blows my mind. This past week she started to put together 2 words. "Hi Dada" "Moe pssz" If only I could get her to say drink better. She said "daay" which no one but those who keep her know what she's talking about.
Also, she is getting into that stage where I have to start watching what I watch around her. Yesterday I was watching XFiles the movie and she was fascinated with it, so I had to keep distracting her during the scary parts. I liked it better when she was blissfully ignorant of everything on tv... but I guess that is just part of her growing up!

My oldest niece Ashlyn is GONE!!! She went to our church's Kid's Camp this week. Oh goodness was she excited about it! You would have thought that she was going to Disney World. Courtney got all of her stuff ready, and she got a new sleeping bag and got to pick out her own snacks for the week. I saw her off at the church that morning because I had to be there early. I was able to help her put her tshirt on and her bandanna (she's on the pink team). She is going to have to much fun! Her counselor is Brad's sister Brandi and the Jr. Counselor is Taylor Smith. I can't wait for her to get back and hear all her stories... then in another week or so, SHE STARTS SCHOOL! I swear I view her as one of my own, so I feel this motherly pang when thinking that she is going to start school... she's just so big now!

Well I need to wrap some stuff up so I can get home. I've been craving Olive Garden and Baked Potatoes. Since I don't want to drive to Olive Garden tonight for dinner, baked potatoes will have to do the trick. So I need to get on home to get the oven turned on! Yum!

Later people!

16 weeks pregnant

Only 2 more weeks till the sonogram! I'm so thrilled!! This time in 2 weeks I will know exactly what I'm having (well, unless he/she is shy- but we have been having talks about spreading wide for this occasion)
I think I might burst from excitement. This has to be in the top 3 best things about pregnancy (in no particular order)

1. Feeling the baby move
2. Finding out the sex of the baby
3. Seeing your baby for the 1st time

I'm ready to check #2 off the list! :) Soon now, very soon.

Well this week has been pretty uneventful, although I'm definitely feeling more activity rolling around down there.

I remember by this time with Lyric, every time I sat still I could feel her move. This little one is SO much more chilled than her. He/She is like, 'yo, what's up mamma' as opposed to Lyric's "HEY GUYS, WHATCHA DOIN, WANNA PLAY, WANNA FLIP, HEY, HEY, HEY!"
But if personality in utero is any indication of future personality, it will probably be nice to have a more chilled baby this time around.

I've now COMPLETED my 4th month of pregnancy- there was a debate the last time I said I was 4 months pregnant, but guess what people, starting next week, I'll be 5 months pregnant and nothing you say will make me change my tune! I have, according to all medical experts, officially completed my 4th month of pregnancy and will be beginning my 5th month, which to me, tells me that I am 5 months pregnant. Don't try to argue with me. You aren't going to win because the whole conception length process is a pile of poo anyways. I mean with counting weeks 1 and 2, techincally before the baby could have been conceived... it's too confusing, so I just stay in my world, which tells me I'm about to be in my 5th month of pregnancy, aka five months pregnant. there. case closed.

The constipation has eased off, and I am now border line regular, isn't that lovely :)
I have more energy and am never nauseous or sick. It's feels just like normal, except I'm getting fatter and feel distinct jabs in my stomach from time to time.

Something interesting that is happening is that my leg hair is growing at a snail's pace! Isn't that awesome. I can go a full 7 days without shaving and my legs are just barely prickly. But the hair on my head and armpits are growing normal... how strange is that?! I personally am pretty happy about it, because that's more time I can spend being lazy, which is always what I look for.

My belly button is already starting to get super shallow. I normally have a very deep belly button cavity, and with Lyric it took forever for it to start getting shallow. But now, it's like super shallow already! I guess it has a memory and has decided not to fight the inevitable right now.

Here is my fave weekly update at Alpha Mom
and here is the more detailed of what's going on with Baby VDP:

Your baby is already mugging for the camera as she practices all sorts of facial expressions, such as squinting, yawning and grimacing, which will come in handy when you introduce her to pureed spinach. Check out what else is happening in utero:You're just getting comfortable with being a new mom, but you're actually on the road to being a grandma. If your baby is a girl, her uterus is fully developed and the ovaries already hold primitive egg cells. Did that just make you feel a thousand years old, or what? Your baby's skin is still translucent and wrinkly, not unlike an old man's, but more fat will soon accumulate under the dermas to plump her out. If you could peer inside right now, you'd be able to see all of her veins under her skin. And speaking of veins, your baby's heart now pumps about 25 quarts of blood per day, and she hasn't even seen Orlando Bloom yet! Also, her eyes are now locked and loaded at their final destination, facing forward rather than to the sides. (Whew!) This is the week women get an amniocentesis, if their doc recommends it. In addition to supplying doctors with a boatload of info about the baby's health, amnios are also more than 99 percent accurate in determining what version of baby you'll be having. So if you want to know and you're getting an amnio, now's a great time to find out for sure.Your baby weighs about 3 ounces this week and measures between 4 and 5 inches, about the length of your mascara.

I can't think of anything else interesting to say. Oh I am almost completely out of pre-pregnancy pants and totally in maternity pants... good times.
I actually really like maternity clothes, so I never have an issue with wearing them.

Jon still says the baby is a boy... I still say the baby is a girl... I guess one of us has to be right :)

15 Weeks

15 weeks. That sounds like a lot for some reason. I mean, I know it doesn't compare to 37 weeks, but seriously, this pregnancy is moving right along, which TOTALLY rocks.

This week has really marked the end of the nausea. I haven't thrown up in over a week. I haven't felt nauseous for quite some time. My mornings are normal mornings now.

It's been so nice to not feel like death warmed over all the time. Though the headaches have yet to subside.

My doctor suggested that I drown the headaches out with water, which I try to do. But if I drink too much water, I get sick. I think it has a lot to do with this heat. It's been over 100 degrees the last week. Just walking outside you feel like you are melting!

My stomach continues to pop out. Though I still don't feel the baby consistently moving every morning. I will feel the occasional popping or thumping, but it's still pretty random. There isn't a position I can get in where I can definitely feel him/her move. I was complaining about it last night to Jon, but then stopped myself and told Jon to remind me that I was saying this in 15 weeks, when that child won't sit still and is a few pounds and it hurts every time they roll over and I can't sleep because of the rolling, the heart burn and the constant pee'ing. He looked at me and said, "ya, I'm not going to remind you at that point." He's a smart man. He would probably get a fork in the eye.

Speaking of belly, here's the belly at 15 weeks

Funny weekly pregnancy view of week 15, click HERE

The classic version:

Although many women don't start feeling the baby move until the 17th week (or later), your baby has been having his own party in the amniotic sac he calls home. If you feel a little flutter in your belly this week, don't discount it as gas or hunger. It could be your babe banging around. Here's more to look forward to:

Baby's head is now resting on his well-formed neck instead of directly on his shoulders like Igor. He's beginning to grow eyebrows and eyelashes this week. (All the better to give you that "Mom, you're crazy" look when he's a teenager.) The hair on the head also begins to grow and, with some creative styling, you'll be able to turn those locks into a Maddox Jolie-Pitt faux-hawk some day.

Although baby's eyes are sealed shut, he's now able to sense light. His eyes and ears finally look like real baby features now. As your baby practices sucking and swallowing actions, he may actually hiccup. You'll know he's had one too many shots of amniotic fluid by the steady thump-thump you feel.

Over the next month, baby will grow faster than ever, so make sure you load up on enough nutritious food and fluids to support his growth. Your baby now measures nearly 4 inches, about the size of a Kit Kat "finger" (regular-size, not the Big one you get at the movies), and weighs almost 2 ounces.

So that's my week 15 in a nutshell. Only 3 more weeks till we find out if this baby has an innie or an outie! So excited! :)

14 Weeks

Well here we are, at 14 weeks!
This week has started the morning sickness relief. I've only thrown up one time and I think that's mainly because I tried to brush my tongue one morning. I pushed my non-nauseous luck a little too far.
Still dealing with headaches every day. They normally don't last too long and I can get rid of them by eating... speaking of eating, I had my 4 month doctor appointment yesterday and guess what!? I've only gained 4lbs THE ENTIRE PREGNANCY! and only 2.5 pounds since my last weigh in almost 6 weeks ago.
OMG you have no idea how happy I was to see those numbers not jump too high. It was a definite relief, especially since I haven't been watching what I eat AT ALL.
I know this will change. I had only gained like 15 pounds before my 6th month with Lyric and managed to gain almost 30 pounds in 4 months. 9 of which were gained in a 3 week period (I cried that day- but I had just gotten back from a 7 day cruise and Thanksgiving holidays- but still.) ALL of that to say, I was very happy with this weight gain, and hope to somehow keep it up... but now I have an overwhelming desire to go to Chipotle to celebrate :)
The babies heart rate is in the 140's... I can't remember, do girls have high heart rates and boys have low?? I don't think it always works like that right? Oh, I just googled it and the old wive's tale says lower is boy, but apparently, it's a load of crap.
Baby is doing great though!
And I'm SO excited because I scheduled my sonogram! I will find out what type of anatomy Baby VDP is sportin' on August 20th!
HECK YA! Gosh that doesn't seem very far away... AHH! It's first thing in the morning, so I should have a blog posted ASAP and we will announce the chosen baby names, though we haven't for sure settled on the boys full name, we definitely know what the girl's name is. Except last night I heard a name that I thought was really cool for a boy, so now we are considering if we should go through with our first name for a boy... but I think we are.
Anyways, here is my favorite site's week 14 update.

And here is the classic one:

Think of it this way: You're a third of the way through and baby's a third of the way cooked. Now that the "big stuff" (like skeletal and organ development) is taken care of, your baby starts a period of rapid brain growth, fat buildup and detail work. Highlights this week include:Your baby now has fingerprints! Book 'em, Danno! Believe it or not, he actually created them himself while swimming around in the amniotic fluid. As he moved his hands, the skin on the tips of his fingers formed unique ridges and folds. That's why no one on earth has the same fingerprints, not even identical twins! Cool, right? Baby's arms are now in proportion to his tiny body, but his legs are still on the short size in comparison.Meconium, that tar-like, sticky first baby poop, is now loading up your baby's intestines, which means you might want to set aside a bottle of olive oil, one of the few things that will get the gooey poop off of baby's bottom. Your baby continues to gain new and impressive skills such as practicing and controlling voluntary muscle movements (this will help him fling food across the room later in life). Your tiny dancer's movements are no longer the jerky, uncontrollable twitches of yore—he now moves with graceful control. Your baby now weighs about an ounce and is the length of a flip phone, or roughly 3.5 inches—he's tripled in size from a mere three weeks ago! Luckily, you haven't done the same.

So now enters the fun part of pregnancy! The part where I get my energy back, where other people besides me and my pants notice that my belly has a baby in it, and the best part: NO VOMIT!

Goodness the last few months have felt soooo long in the fact that I never thought I would feel good again, but then have gone by relatively quickly.

I WON!

This is the first time, after entering drawing after drawing on all my favorite blogs, to finally win something!
On Celebrity Baby Scoop they had a drawing for Sweet Dreams T's. It's a company that sells super chic clothes and all of the "stars" have them for their babies! It's expensive too! I'm talking for a simple onesie, $80+!
Anyways, they had a drawing and I entered for the 3-6 month onesie thinking if I won I would give it to my beautiful niece (by choice) Sophie. Well I did! Sophie will have herself the most expensive onesie ever :)
Click HERE to read the details if you want.
I got an email from them this morning telling me they were shipping out the onesie today! :) Yippee!

On an entirely different note, I have the most awkwardly placed zits that will NOT go away! I call them my scowling zits, as they are two zits, parallel to eachother, in between my eyes. If I make a scowl, they fit almost perfect in my scowl face lines. Jon says I need to be happier then I wouldn't get scowl zits... well regardless, it's TERRIBLE! The gunk will just not stay out, I've had to pop them like a billion times. Seriously, how embarrassing is it to be talking with students at work and then you go to the bathroom and those stupid zits have reemerged with nasty white heads. ICK!
I think the one on the left is almost gone, but the one on the right quite possibly may be with me until I die. Please note their glory:

Pregnancy Forget Me Not #9585777389
FREAKING ZITS LIKE A PUBESCENT BOY WHO EATS GREASY FOOD EVERY DAY THEN SMEARS HIS FACE IN IT!

Today marks a momentous day for me. It's the last Friday I have to work at this job. Yes you heard that right, starting next week my schedule is going from 40 hours to 30 hours a week! Yippee! You have no idea how much this is going to help me. I was supposed to start my new schedule LAST week, but unfortunately, communication lines were crossed, but I am starting next week now. I can't wait to have LONG weekends every weekend! It's going to rockin'!

So I'm determined to keep my energy level up today, even if it means sipping on a diet coke in one hand and a glass of water in the next! I will have a productive day that passes quickly!!!

Ok, well early Shabbat Shalom to you all and I'm out!

BLAH

That's how my day has been today. Just blah. I woke up with a headache that has yet to go away. I had to change plane reservations which is a pain in the butt, still blah. Worked on the work website and can't get the changes to stick, blah. Did some internal PR work, blah. Hosted a table at a student lunch, blah.
Everything I am doing today I feel like rolling my eyes at it.

This may have to do with the fact that I am silently protesting my husband's lack of presence this week. He's been needing to be busy all the time, so when it comes to staying at home at night with me, he bails. Once dinner is eaten, he's gone. Up to the church, out with the guys, it doesn't matter as long as he's not at home.
That's fun huh? Real nice when you've had nausea and headaches, coming home after a long day at work...
And now I just found out that he is going to be gone literally the entire night on Friday and all day Saturday getting home after I've already gone to bed... how's that for ya.
Then dealing with unnecessary drama throughout the day has been an unnecessary addition to my already blah day.
Thank God tomorrow is Friday! That is the one good part. That and I have plans with my wonderful sister for Saturday. I finally got her hooked on the Twilight Series. She even admitted to developing a crush on the lead character, a crush which is inevitable when reading these books. If you've never thought you could develop a crush on a fictional character, I tempt you to read these books, really read them, and then tell me you don't have a crush on Edward, I DARE YOU! :) Ok, maybe Brad S. didn't get a crush on him, but other than that, you know you will. I'm so ready to re-read them. I just can't figure out who has my 3rd book! I lent them out to people so that they could get hooked, and now don't have one copy at home. Court has #1, the Shulls have #2 and I don't know where #3 is which makes me sad because I want to re-read the entire series before #4 comes out on August 2nd.
Good times! :)

Ok, well talking about Edward just got me a little more perky, so I'll end this blog on a perkier note quite possibly.

My round ligament pain hasn't been as bad today, thank God, but instead I woke up with a pounding headache that hasn't gone away no matter how much I overdose on Tylenol. Ok, I'm not REALLY overdosing, just 3 pills every 6 hours isn't too bad right? Well it's not really working, just makes the pain a little more dull...

Apparently some people think I complain too much on my blog, so I'll stop that train and just end right now.

Later.

Round Ligament Pain

I just don't remember it that much from Lyric. I mean, I remember having it, but I don't remember if it was a constant pain.
From what I remember with Lyric it was just sharp pains and stretchings, maybe lasting for a few minutes at a time, but not for days.
I started having a pretty serious dull pain in my left side yesterday around lunch and it hasn't gone away. It gets worse when I walk obviously, but even when I'm sitting or laying down I feel the pain constantly.
Last night I was in a dead sleep and it woke me up. It was REALLY intense last night. I almost couldn't get out of bed to try to walk it out.

So anyways, I'm 99.9% sure this is just round ligament pain, but I would like some verbal reassurance, so mom's and other pregnant ladies, please reassure me. I get super paranoid really easy when it comes to pregnancy :)

13 weeks

So here we are at 13 weeks pregnant! Yippee!
I'm now officially 4 months pregnant. I am technically 4 months, because by 17 weeks, I will be starting my 5th month of pregnancy due to the fact that pregnancy is actually 10 months long, not 9... it all gets confusing which is why mother's always say how many weeks they are as it gives other mothers a better gauge on how far along they actually are. But when talking to people who've never had kids or guys in general (er-like MY HUSBAND), it's best to use the months, less confusing that way.

So 13 weeks, my stomach has really started to pop out more. Good times. :) I need to gather maternity pants from my sources (Abby and Court- already got a few from Morgan). Because as of now, I just wear my work pants unbuttoned all day :)

Still dealing with random nausea and headaches. This past weekend was exceptionally bad. I threw up so much and so hard that I popped all the blood vessels under my eyes. Then Sunday I had the WORST headache of all times. It was so bad that it reduced me to a 5 year old whiney girl. I whined more on Sunday than I can EVER remember whining. Believe me, just ask my family. But I just want this random nausea to leave...Even this morning, I upchucked. WHERE ART THOU 2ND TRIMESTER?!?

But one thing awesome is I am 90% sure I felt the baby move last night. I was in a strange position with my legs up underneath me and I was kind of hunched over and I felt the little poppings, but I thought it was just gas, but then it was consistent, and all over random. Once I moved I couldn't feel it again. But just those few seconds I got SO happy! You have no idea what an infusion of life that is to feel your tiny baby moving around. It's indescribable. I love it! It is my FAVORITE part of being pregnant by far.

Here are some comparison photos:

Here I am 13 1/2 weeks pregnant with Lyric

And here I am a little over 13 weeks pregnant with Baby VDP

I think I'm bigger this time around. What do you think?

For my favorite pregnancy commentary on week 13- click HERE

For the basics on week 13, read on:
The baby is getting so big now he's starting to push up your uterus. He weighs just over an ounce (30 grams) and measures almost 3 inches (about 7 centimeters). When not pregnant, a normal uterus is about the size of a small pear. Twelve weeks into the pregnancy, the uterus has grown to the size of a big pear, after 16 weeks it's as big as a grapefruit and when you're 20 weeks pregnant it's the size of a small melon. After 24 weeks of pregnancy it has become as big as a baby watermelon and after 28 weeks it is similar in size to a balloon that's not fully inflated. By the time you're about to give birth, your uterus is as big as a fully inflated balloon. Your cervix represents the tightly closed mouth of the balloon.

A uterus can be positioned leaning towards the front or the back. If yours is positioned towards the front, you can feel your uterus with your hands above the pubic bone from now on. You can also have your partner or your children feel it if they want. If it doesn't really work out yet, try it again in one or two weeks. Throughout the entire pregnancy you can have normal 'pulling and stretching' pain. Sometimes during the little one's growth spurts, your organs - such as your stomach, liver, pancreas and gall bladder - literally have to make way for your rising uterus. Your uterus is a hollow, muscular organ that always has a certain amount of tension and responds to its surroundings, such as during an orgasm. Now that there's a baby growing inside you, your uterus can harden or tighten briefly during such a growth spurt or when you're doing familiar activities or having an orgasm. That's all normal. You may feel it more often when you're stressed or have a full bladder. These mild uterine contractions are good for the baby -- it feels like a kind of hug, a sign that his mother is there for him. They even have an official name: Braxton-Hicks contractions. First time moms may not even notice them until week 20 or so, where experienced moms may notice them much earlier.- *great, that's all I need. Early braxton hicks... sigh.*

I pushed my appointment back a few days, from this Friday to next Tuesday due to my work schedule, so I won't know how I've gained in the 1st trimester till NEXT week. Oh the joys. I haven't been weighed in almost 2 months. I'm guessing 5lbs, but I hope it's less. PLEASE GOD DON'T LET IT BE MORE THAN 5 POUNDS!!

12 Weeks

Another week has passed oh so quickly!
Though I never know if I am technically in my 2nd trimester, or if at 14 weeks I'm in my 2nd trimester... Normally 12 weeks marks it, but in the What to Expect it says 14 weeks... hmmm...

So let's say I'm in 2nd trimester purgatory... or does that sound strange??

This week has passed really quickly. Nothing too new, my belly has been growing a little more to the point where i know have to wear a rubber band with all my jeans like so:

I'm still not completely over the nausea, I'm still not completely over the headaches. Still ridiculously tired.
But life is good! I can't believe I'm this far along already, it just hasn't seemed that long. And to think that I'll be finding out what I'm having next month, wow! Now that makes it seem like it's going FAST!!!
I can't wait to find out! Some days I want it to be a girl, some days I want it to be a boy... so really, I'm just happy with either one. We want more kids, so it's not like this is a last time, so no expectations.
So nothing really new to report this week, just a lot of same ol'-same ol'. Well except the fact that my baby looks like a duck and my uterus like a duck head.

Here's the 12 week baby update:

Basically your little child has been fully formed except for his fat and brain, but he'll have to grow and develop during the coming months to be able to live on his own outside of your body. All kinds of details have to be finished and form their definitive shape. At this stage, he'll open his mouth and swallow amniotic fluid. He practices sucking and will let the amniotic fluid flow in and out of his little lungs, which helps with the expanding and developing of his respiratory system. Maybe you'll wonder why babies don't drown in the amniotic fluid. The answer is simple: unborn babies aren't relying on their lungs for their oxygen supply, they get oxygen through the blood from the placenta.

Maybe this week you'll hear his heart beat for the first time... a great moment! Now you have the definitive proof that a baby is growing in your belly. His little heart beats really fast, about 160 beats per minute. Later during the pregnancy the rate will drop a bit, to somewhere between 120 and 160 beats per minute. In the meantime, your baby is swimming around peacefully, playing a bit with his umbilical cord and sucking his little thumb; he can already yawn and sleep a bit, too. If only you could have a peek inside to say hello...

Yeah for Baby VDP.

A Duckling?

I just realized that the sono picture of baby VDP kind of looks like a duck if you turn the picture on it's side.

What do you think? I think it definitely looks like a duck. My co-worker said then that makes me a mother ducker :) haha. But seriously. Am I really giving birth to a duck? Ryan told me he thought Lyric was a kitten, I guess this one is a duck.

11 Weeks and a Sonogram!

Eleven Weeks... yup, it's true. Just a few days short of my 2nd trimester.

I'm pretty excited about it! Ready to be feeling better and have more energy. Ready to be a little more upbeat about life.

Today actually (week 11, day 3) has marked the day where I could not button my black work pants over my bulging belly. Yes, I know, just 11 weeks, but this is my 2nd kid, I was just pregnant a little over a year ago and never lost all of my "baby weight", plus the fact that I don't have a lot of grow room in these pants equals a small, tiny baby bulge and too small pants.
It's kind of exciting though when you start pooching out. Though it will be many moons probably till any of you notice, I'm just noticing now. I do enjoy that early pooch, especially when it's noticeable enough for other people to know I'm pregnant, but not even near the uncomfortable stage. I think that's in the 20's weeks, those are some good weeks, and not very far off.
I had a sonogram today and was able to see the munchkin for the first time. It definitely looks like a blob, but a cute blob. I wouldn't even say it looks like a peanut, more like a blob. However, it was my favorite blob I've ever seen! :)
Jon wasn't able to make it to the appointment due to work, so my mom came with. We both were wearing HUGE grins as we saw him/her bouncing around and stretching his/her arms. The heartbeat was strong and healthy. It was so precious! It definitely makes it more real when you actually see what's growing inside you.
And I was even two days farther along than I thought. I thought I was 11 weeks 1 day, and I'm 11 weeks 3 days, which puts my due date now at January 18th! Yippee! They can just keep moving it on up if they want to. First I thought it was the 23rd, then the nurse said it was the 21st, then the doctor the 20th, and now the sonogram showed the 18th!

Here is a picture of the munchkin blob baby. It's pretty blurry, but then it's not very "baby" looking anyways, so it doesn't really matter :0

Other fun things happening:
EVIL hemorrhoids, awful constipation and a headache that has lasted 3 days...
First trimesters suck for me, thank the Lord the end is near!
But seriously, that headache has KICKED my butt. I just can't focus and it gets so bad that it makes me nauseous, which makes me puke, which makes my headache all the worse.
Just no fun at all.

Here are the 11 weeks happenings:
In a week's time, your baby's weight has doubled from 5 to 10 grams. He has grown 0.4 inches (a full centimeter) and that growth continues. Your little one now has a neck as well, enabling him to raise his head. He's been moving for a while now, but the future mom can't feel that yet. At this stage, the ovaries and testicles are being formed and all internal organs slowly continue to grow. The heart has been finished now, for example, so that the blood circulation can function and the muscles can strengthen. From this moment on the risk of fetal birth defect will decrease, because once they have been formed organs are less sensitive to external influences.

The head is still disproportionately large - it's about the same size as the body. The eyes are finished, including the whites of the eye, iris and pupil. Up until the sixth month they'll stay closed; only then will the lids open and close. There's no need to see anyway, since it's dark inside the uterus; the only thing he does is grow and happily swim around.

Well that's my baby! I'm excited!!

I used to be able to think

Until I got a headache 3 days ago.

It's been awful and I've had the worse time trying to concentrate. Screw blogging (though I have about 4 half started blogs in draft that I need to finish).

The pounding has been going in and out, but right now it's in, for sure.

But I do get to go see my baby for the 1st time! I'm really excited that I have a sonogram today. Actually I leave in like 20 minutes.

Ok, just letting you know that I'm going to really try and update this blog soon, I just need to get to feeling better. :(

Highly Involved Fathers

So the other day I was sitting on the couch while Jonathan was playing some sniper game on his new xbox, and I was writing in my pregnancy journal. I was all excited to be filling out the 10 week page and thinking thoughts of my future child, wondering what life was going to be like with 2 kids, trying to guess what week I would start being able to feel the baby move, I had a smile on my face and was just really happy. I look at my wonderful husband, father of my children, thinking about what an incredible father he is. How involved he is. How I can so rely on him.
Then I ask,

D: Honey, how many weeks pregnant am I?
J: Um... (shoot bad guy with sniper rifle).. I don't know, like 20 something weeks?
D: (silence)... you think I'm 20 something weeks pregnant?
J: I mean (shoot more bad guys)... like 30 something weeks?
D: (silence except for machine gun noise)... you know pregnancy is only 40 weeks, and you think that I am 30 something weeks pregnant.
J: (His guy dies a bloody death- frustrated sigh) Destiny, I'm not a doctor.

Yes, this is the highly involved father of my unborn child. :)

Gotta love him! :)

Relapse

(hold on while I stem off the feeling of vomiting up my lunch... okay, better)

SO ya. Today has been a day of relapse. Maybe I just had a hormone SURGE or what, but I woke up today and puked and have felt PUKEY ever since. Even eating hasn't squelched the rolling of my stomach nor the icky feeling in my gut.
YUCK!

Then to top it off, for like 20 minutes last night I was so ridiculously dizzy that I thought I was going to pass out. Like my face drained of all color, I started getting tunnel vision and when I talked I sounded to myself like I was at the bottom of a well. I just sat still, trying to will myself back into the land of the living. Jon doesn't know what to do in situations like this. So he immediately stands up and starts cleaning the living room. I know, strange. But he would rather make himself busy then stand there and watch his wife pass out. To each his own, but he at least cleaned up all our dinner mess :)

Hopefully this is just a relapse day and I will be back to feeling good tomorrow. Ick. I hate feeling nauseous. Though I am craving me some pickles like something fierce! I remember I went through a pickle phase around this time with Lyric too. They are just glorious. I could eat an entire jar!

Zelda Update. I'm rockin that game out. I am the most awesome Zelda Nintendo DS player to ever rock out a planet. Go me!

Ok, my head hurts and I need pickles and so I need to skidaddle.

10 Weeks

So I've officially entered the realm of 2 digits. Never will I go back to single digits in this pregnancy!
I always like it when I get to 10 weeks. The baby is basically all formed and just gets down to the business of growing. It's actually using the umbilical cord now for its nutrients, which means it really does eat/drink what I eat/drink... uh oh!

Speaking of, I had a dream last night that I was at dinner and I was pregnant, but I kept having vodka and tonics (which I don't even like) and no one said anything to me till I had drank 4 of them. And then when they told me that I should probably stop, I told them that doctor's who say alcohol harms a baby are lying. Then I tried to go find my car and it was at UTA and there was a Michelle Branch concert going on, except Michelle Branch was really Stephanie Gagne. There were people everywhere and I couldn't find my car. Tiffani was with me and she wouldn't stop talking and the her sisters Abigail and Amanda were there, but wouldn't stop laughing. And I was getting so frustrated because I couldn't find my car.

Okay, that's it. I know. Strange.

Anyways, back to the pregnancy.

Still not sick anymore, which has been great. Except of course when I don't eat consistently (like today) I get pretty nauseous, which is no fun. My knee is hurting the last few days, which doesn't have anything to do with pregnancy since I haven't gained any weight (thank God), but still. It hurts.

I have also decided to officially say I am no longer carrying twins. Yes, I spoke it into existence, and was indeed carrying twins for a few weeks. But as of yesterday I decided they needed to fuse back together so I wouldn't be stressed out, so they did and now i am just carrying one baby. Just thought you all needed the update! :)

I will indeed get pregnant a 3rd time since I said I would if I wasn't as sick in this pregnancy, which I'm not, so good times had by all.

Well I think that does it for my 10 week update. Nothing has changed, but the baby is definitely growing!

Here is the ten week description:
Your baby is now almost two inches (4.5 centimeters) tall and weighs 5 grams. It's not much, but he is complete! In your belly sits a miniature person who in no way resembles the tadpole of a few weeks ago. You can recognize his little face and the eyelids are clearly visible. The vocal cords are forming and the inner ear and auricle have been formed, too. The first downy hairs are becoming visible. The process of ossification is in full progress; the fingertips are hardening and soon they will get minuscule nails. A bit later the toes will follow, because the development of an embryo (and of a baby as well) takes place from top to bottom.

Although the gender already has been determined, you can't see whether it will be a boy or girl yet. At this stage, the umbilical cord between the embryo and the wall of the uterus starts to function and a lot of work is done on creating the placenta. That's because from now on your baby-to-be will grow rapidly and that's only possible when he's provided with a sufficient amount of nutrients via the placenta and the umbilical cord.

Jolly Ranchers

I enjoy them a lot. Especially the green ones.

So this weekend really kicked my butt. I got to bed REALLY late on Friday, then didn't sleep that well Saturday night and by Sunday night, I was so exhausted that I think I tossed and turned in my sleep so I don't feel rested. I actually woke up ridiculously tired. So now, I think due to the exhaustion, I feel sick to my stomach (though vomit free am I).

I mean seriously. Right now, I can hardly keep my eyes open.

I have been having trouble sending some documents to our ABQ affiliates and it is driving me crazy. I also helped video tape one of our pilot grads follow up interview for The Bachelor. He is one of 20 finalist to be the next Bachelor. It was pretty funny and I had to stop myself from laughing out loud quite a few times. Some of the questions he had to answer were about past relationships and why he is should be the next Bachelor.... :)

So I think Jon is going to buy an Xbox 360 this week. He has an old Xbox and he sold it at a pawn shop and then is taking his father's day money (which should have bought new shoes that he has been wanting.) and some extra money he made and is buying it. I think it's a waste of $300, but whatever makes him happy. I'll play my DS and he can play his Xbox and we will both be happy :)

On another note, one of the greatest (and almost a sister-in-law) friends Jennifer Nickerson just put out her first album called Girl Next Door. I was really impressed by her song writing abilities and her desire to just go for the gold and push for her dreams! You go Jennifer! Everyone go check out her music on her MySpace Music page http://www.myspace.com/jennifernickersonmusic. I am so proud of her :) I think my favorite song is "Girl Next Door" or "Dear Prince Charming", but go check them ALL out!

Well anyways, I need to sleep. I'm SO exhausted (I don't know if I've mentioned that enough lately), but I'm finally 10 weeks pregnant. So that's nice. I always like when I finally get into double digits! I can't wait till next Wednesday where I finally get a picture of the little peanut! :) I'm almost out of my 1st trimester, this pregnancy thankfully is passing pretty quickly and has been so much more of a pleasant experience than with Lyric. I still don't think the difference in pregnancies mean I'm having a boy though, I'm still pulling for that 2nd girl! :) Though a boy would be nice, don't get me wrong. I guess only another 8 weeks or so and we'll find out! :)

Ok, enough interlude, back to the grind.

Oh Zelda

So I need a new game for my DS and I want Zelda. My silly husband has a $50 certificate from Best Buy and doesn't know what to buy (I know, a shocker) so I am trying to talk him into buying me Zelda. He tries to tell me that he can't spend it on me, because that would be an equivalent to an IT sin, but it expires soon and he needs to just freaking buy me a present because I am awesome and I deserve it for my stop puke present.

Because, yes, you heard me right. I am vomit free once again. Not only vomit free but nausea free. This is so freaking glorious. I just don't even know what to do with myself.

But let's talk about something that is not good. Weight gain in the 1st trimester. Yup. Not good at all. I'm already beginning this pregnancy 6 pounds over my pre-Lyric weight and so this is so no bueno for me. But I swear I can hardly button my pants. Thankfully the scale as far as a few days ago, still showed that I hadn't gained any weight, but I think that may have changed this week. I just feel heavier if that makes any sense. I need to get my bella band back from Courtney. I know, I know, I'm not even 10 weeks, but I swear my waste has thickened. I'm not "showing" but I've definitely already thickened around the waste and it's uncomfortable to wear these pants all day long. I've heard you start showing faster with your 2nd, which I think I might enjoy more. I genuinely enjoy maternity clothes as they are SO comfortable. Plus with the clothes I bought, Abby's clothes, Courtney's clothes and Morgan's clothes, I am hooked up for all occasions as far as maternity goes. I am definitely not a maternity clothes resister! :)

Well anyways, I am so happy it's Friday as I'm ready for the weekend. My new schedule of working 30 hours a week starts on July 7th and I am pumped about it!! Yippee! I know that is going to help out SO much as far as my extra energy thing goes. I won't know what to do with myself having a long weekend, EVERY weekend! It's going to be glorious!

Lyric is feeling better and only woke up once or twice last night, but went straight back to sleep. I hope that phantom fever stays far away from us. It sucks!

Well anyways, I think that is it. I don't really have anything else to talk about. So I'm out.

Feeling GREAT!

Ok, so besides the EXTREME lack of sleep I've been getting due to a sick baby... I am feeling TOTALLY VOMIT FREE TODAY!

I haven't felt this good since I've been pregnant. I haven't been nauseous all day, nor have I had even the slightest inkling to throw up. Case in point, I didn't feel sick this morning and was late for work so I didn't grab breakfast at home. I start getting busy and lo and behold it's 12pm and I still haven't eaten anything... and guess what? I wasn't sick! That's almost a miracle!

Now if only I could get the bottom half of my body jump started so I can get on the poop train and I would be one happy pregnant lady!

I seriously can't believe that I only had about 3 weeks of nausea and only a week or so of throwing up. This must be a freaking miracle... I guess I will be having that 3rd baby alright... maybe even a 4th! :)

Hopefully I won't be retracting all of these statements in my blog tomorrow (knock on wood).

I have been craving me some tuna- and although it's "not allowed" for pregnant women, I decided one measley tuna fish sandwich from Subway couldn't hurt me. So I partook of the glory of that sandwich and after eating that and my bag of nacho cheese dorritos, I was still freaking hungry. To this moment, I am still freaking hungry. That sandwich was so good, I may do it again tomorrow... how much is too much tuna? Anyone want to let me know?

So Lyric is still not feeling that snazzy. She had a rough night last night, but apparently is doing better today according to Christina.

She and I both are not riding consistently on the poop train and so I think she was just having some stomach issues last night.
But please note the adorableness of her though sleeping next to daddy:

Also, I finally took a picture of my pooch. Obviously at 9 weeks, I can't say that I'm "showing", but I like to pretend that I am. So together we will all pretend that my pooch is all baby, and not leftover fat and skin from my pregnancy with Lyric over a year ago, okay? Okay. Thanks.

And here is my daughter really happy that I am her mom.

Ok, I need to leave you now. Go eat some tuna fish and think of me.

Return of the Phantom Fever

Lyric came down with a fever again yesterday. Once again, no other symptoms besides a 102.5 fever.

This is SO strange. She's not acting that sick. A little more lethargic than normal, not eating as much as normal, but other than that, she's fine. Not super fussy, not super clingy. Just feverish.

It's SO strange!

Christina went ahead and kept her today because both Jon and I had to work, but it's still crazy that she just randomly comes down with high fevers with no other symptoms.

I am having some major back pains. It started yesterday and just got worse throughout the day and evening.

Today is no better. It just feels like a whole lot of pressure on my lower back... could this be pregnancy related? I don't think so as this 9 week old baby can not be big enough to create any real pressure in my body, right? But I didn't do anything strenuous yesterday, bottom line I'm not feeling that snazzy today.

But what day am I?

On a good note, I haven't thrown up in 2 days! Yippee! I still feel nauseous most of the day, but not nearly as bad as last week. I guess this is God telling me that he won't give me twins, but he will make it easier for me so I'll go through another pregnancy :)

So pray for my little girl and my back.

9 weeks

My baby doesn't have a tail! My baby doesn't have a tail!!

Yippee!!!

I love it when the tail is gone and my baby starts looking like an actual baby. The gecko is gone! :)

This week has started off a lot better. I'm still pretty nauseous, but not as bad as last week. How awesome is that? If I can get through this pregnancy with only like a month of nausea, I may just get pregnant again :) There goes the reason for willing twins into being! :)
ALSO, I was able to get a prescription for Zofran which is that kick butt anti-nausea pill that I couldn't get last time with Lyric because it was $500 for 15 pills without insurance. But now thanks to my lovely insurance, I paid $10 :) Unfortunately it make me SO constipated... ick.

I am still SO RIDICULOUSLY TIRED! I'm more tired this week than last week. I mean seriously, walking across the room, taking a shower, walking upstairs to the galley to get a diet coke... it WEARS ME OUT! Today I had a big lunch that I was in charge of for work, and just dealing with all of that and cleaning up KICKED MY BUTT. My back is hurting, my legs feel like stumps.... I'm just so tired. I can't wait for the 2nd trimester energy boost where I get spurts of nesting and love a clean house. Right now I'm doing good if I can just get my butt off the couch to start a load of laundry, let's not even talk about folding it.... I'm tired. Have I mentioned that yet?

Here is my 9 week Info:
Lots of things are going on now with your baby-to-be. A human being has many double body parts and organs that originate at the same time and develop into a right and left counterpart. A beautiful symmetry. Every cell knows exactly where it has to be and what it has to develop into, without anyone telling it what to do. A 'little person' is almost complete, measuring about an inch in length and weighing some 2 grams, happily splashing around in its membrane filled with fluids.

[WAIT-HERE IS MY FAVORITE PART:]

Did you know that at 9 weeks, your baby already has a tiny anus

[HAHA- OK, I'M IMATURE.]

and that little bones are beginning to be formed? From now on the baby will develop hips, shoulders, elbows, hands and fingers. The 'lower stumps' will get knees, ankles and feet and the fingers and toes will eventually lose their webbing. He can wiggle them, too! With small twitches, he squiggles with his little arms and legs. He can move his thumb to his mouth, which opens and has a tongue. Soon he will start sucking his thumb yet and develop a preference for his right or left hand which will last throughout his life. He even has a tiny little nose. In short, your baby is becoming a real minuscule human being with a face.

So here's to 9 weeks, my little one getting an anus and losing his/her tail! :)

Measuring Big??

So I had a doctor's appointment this past Friday.

First off, I love my doctor. I feel so comfortable with Doctor Moseley and I feel so blessed to have a doctor like her taking care of me and my babies. She delivered Lyric, as well as Kadyn and Judah.

Anyways, so I've been telling her my theory that I can will myself into having twins so I never have to be pregnant again. This is all a big joke, as I have absolutely NO inclination that I'm having twins besides the fact that I say that I am because it would mean this is my last pregnancy. As she was getting ready to do my exam, I told her to not be surprised that I am measuring big because obviously, I will be because I'm having twins.

And to my surprise, I am measuring big! :) I never measured big with Lyric even one time. She said maybe I did will myself to have twins :) Of course we all know that I didn't, but I now have fodder for the next 2 weeks till I get my sonogram (that's the soonest I could get in with the sonographer as she just comes in a few times a week). So until then, I am still every day willing myself to have twins. I wonder if the baby's cells can still split at 9 weeks???? hmmmm???? :)

Obviously I know that people measure big ALL the time without carrying twins, and I really don't think I'm carrying twins, I honestly don't. I just think it's funny that I kept saying that I was going to measure big and lo and behold I was (even though I never did with Lyric).

So ya, give it up for speaking things into being :)
